It is important to note that the 24-pin signal cable cannot be disconnected from the sensor
bar unless the sensor bar is completely removed from the magnetic bridge. Attempts to
remove the signal cable while the sensor bar is still connected to the magnetic bridge will result
in damage to the signal cable (the strain relief will get twisted and the wires will be damaged).
There is no known reason to disconnect the signal cable from the sensor, other than to replace
a damaged signal cable. In the event of a damaged signal cable, disconnect the signal cable
from the Electronics Box (refer to Section 4.1.3), lean the scanner back until the handle
assembly is resting on the floor, remove the two wing nuts located on top of the bridge that
hold the sensor bar in place (highlighted blue in illustration on previous page), and carefully pull
out the sensor bar from the underside of the bridge. The signal cable can now be safely
disconnected from the sensor bar.
